Economic lecture
The Chatham County Courthouse in Pittsboro will host “Developing a Creative Place-Based Economy,” a seminar and discussion led by Becky Anderson, a founder of Handmade in America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to economic strategies in small towns, particularly in North Carolina. The lecture will be Saturday, November 10 from 2 to 5 p.m., followed by dinner and discussion at 7 p.m. at Celebrity Dairy in Silk Hope.

Advance tickets for the courthouse seminar are $10 for the general public, $8 for ChathamArts members. Tickets at the door will be $15 for the general public, $12 for CA members. Celebrity Dairy dinner tickets are $50 for the general public and $45 for ChathamArts members; advance reservations required. Tickets are available at Bluebirds and Hollyhocks in Fearrington Village and at ChathamArts Gallery in downtown Pittsboro. The event is sponsored by ChathamArts and the Chatham Economic Development Corporation.

Bluegrass show
The Bluegrass Experience will reunite for their 36th anniversary performance and Tommy Edwards & Friends will release their new recording, “The Christmas Album.” The concert takes place at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 16 at the Fearrington Barn. Advance tickets are $13, door tickets are $15. Advance tickets are recommended, as the show sold out last year.

Tickets are available at Bluebirds and Hollyhocks in Fearrington Village; Beggars and Choosers, ChathamArts Gallery, Red Gate Music and Art and Antiques in Pittsboro; and the N.C. Arts Incubator in Siler City.
