Obituary – Frances Gregory Hatfield

Frances G. Hatfield, age 90, passed away on December 28, 2007 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  Beloved wife of the late Truman Hatfield Jr., Mrs. Hatfield was born on January 17, 1917 in Glenwood, Illinois.  She lived in Glenwood, South Holland and Lansing, Illinois, except for the last year of her life when she lived in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

She is survived by her son Truman F. Hatfield (wife Marjorie) of Chehalis, Washington, daughter Bonnie Jo Wood (husband Jack) of Ludington, MI and Mary Ann Klompmaker (husband Jay) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren – Katherine (husband Robert) Weber, Allison (husband Jon) Ashlock, Michael T. Hatfield, Kim (husband Scott) Flinn, Lori (husband Emmett) Leopardi, Elizabeth (husband Mark) Moshier, Susan (husband William) Veazey, and Caroline Klompmaker – and eleven great-grandchildren – Nicholas and Charles Weber, Hunter Ashlock, Carney and Katie Flinn, Rachel and Curtis Smith, Isabella Moshier, and Andrew, Kelsey, and Pearce Veazey.  She is survived by her sister Ernestine Carlson of Glenwood, Illinois.  She was predeceased by sister’s, Blanche McFadden and Nell Mergenthaler and brothers Carlton and Frank Gregory.  She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on January 4, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church of Chicago Heights.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be sent to the First Presbyterian Church of Chicago Heights, 900 Thomas Street, Chicago Heights, Illinois 60411 or to a favorite charity.

Arrangements are by Walker’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill.
