Chapel Hill Police investigators held a news conference at 11 a.m. today (Saturday) to announce that they had surveillance photos of a “person of interest” driving murdered UNC Student Body President Eve Carson’s SUV. The individual in the photos was using Carson’s ATM card and appears to be driving her blue 2005 Toyota Highlander. He is seen wearing a Houston Astros baseball cap.
UPDATE: Monday 11:23 a.m. Police are trying to enhance the photo to get a better look at a second male in the backseat of the vehicle. From the CHPD release:
UPDATE – EVE CARSON INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
On Saturday, March 8th the Chapel Hill Police Department released surveillance photos of an individual attempting to use the victim’s ATM card at an area location. We received a number of tips from citizens over the weekend and investigators are continuing to follow up on those reports.
Questions have surfaced about an individual possibly seated in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. We do believe there is a second unidentified male seated in the rear seat. We have been exploring ways to enhance the quality of this photo in an effort to learn more about this person.
The Chapel Hill Police Department would like to remind you of the generous pledge from the UNC-Chapel Hill Board of Trustees. They are pledging $25,000 to the Carrboro-Chapel Hill-UNC Crime Stoppers program for a reward for information leading to the arrest of a person or persons responsible for the murder of Eve Carson. We ask that citizens with information about the case call Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515 or www.crimestoppers-chcunc.org. All conversations are confidential and callers do not need to reveal their identity.

What a waste of a good humanbeing. Crime is rampant every where. I don’t even feel safe at home in my bed at night any more. May God be with her family, and friends and the person who killed her. HE/SHE will need something on their side and only God would be with someone who committed a horrible crime like that.
