News Brief: Former teacher charged

Jason Perkins resigned as a social studies teacher at Woods Charter School last week after being charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of minors.

Perkins, 38, of 540 Sutter Gate Lane in Morrisville, taught middle school students at Woods Charter. He was arrested last Thursday and released after posting bail.

According to police, they found images of adolescent girls on his home computer.
Perkins has been ordered to stay away from children under 18. He resigned from Woods Charter last week, before charges were filed. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 1.
