Land & Table Brief: Pasture potluck

Posted on May 23, 2008 by Staff

Ayrshire Farm will be the site of a party and potluck on Sunday, June 29. “Potluck in a Pasture,” organized by ChathamArts, will bring visitors and their favorite dishes, made with all local ingredients, to the oldest certified organic farm in the state for dining, music and community. Featured performers and speakers are bluegrass musician Susan Ketchin, singer Sarah Shook, mural artist Erick Davis, woodworker Diane Swan and publishers Dave Korzon and Elizabeth Oliver. Farm owner Bill Dow will lead a tour of the farm.

Visitors should bring a potluck dish for eight including at least one locally grown ingredient, along with their recipe, beverages, lawn chairs and blankets. ChathamArts will accept donations. Ayrshire Farm is located on Friendly Pooch Lane off the Jay Shambley Road, south of U.S. 64. Call 219.9840 for details about directions or the farm.
Another Potluck in a Pasture event is planned for Sunday, September 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jordan Lake Farm near Martha’s Chapel.
