News Brief: Animal shelter benefit cookout

Orange County’s Animal Services Department will hold its first annual Spring Cookout on Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Orange County Animal Shelter.

The event will feature a scavenger hunt, adoptable animals and free hot dogs and drinks. In addition, local musicians will perform.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.co.orange.nc.us/animalservices/events.asp or contact Sarah Fallin, program coordinator, at 967-7383. The shelter is located at 1081 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Chapel Hill.
