Hog heaven

Photo by Jordan Timpy.Hillsborough Hog Day celebrated its 26th year this past Saturday the same way it has every year in the past, with tons of barbecue, entertainment and fun for all ages.

But for the first time, this year’s festival was a “trash-free” one, with efforts to minimize waste and recycle or compost as much as possible. Vendors used biodegradable utensils made from vegetable starch, and volunteers separated recyclables, paper waste and food from trash.
