Spotlight: Prometheus’ Garden

Posted on August 14, 2008 by Staff

Prometheus’ Garden will be shown at OCSC at 10 and 11pm on August 20.
OCSC will show the claymation short film Prometheus’ Garden by animator Bruce Bickford and the documentary Luck of a Foghorn, a collection of interviews with Bickford, on Aug. 20 starting at 9:30 p.m.

Bickford collaborated with Frank Zappa in the ‘70s on films Zappa produced, including The Amazing Mr. Bickford, and is the subject of Monster Road, a documentary by Brett Ingram, who is also the author of Luck of a Foghorn. Prometheus’ Garden is Bickford’s latest film and the first over which he had complete creative control.

Prometheus’ Garden is inspired by the Greek myth of Prometheus, who stole fire from the gods. The film is a dreamlike, stream-of-consciousness depiction of characters struggling for survival. Monster Road, Luck of a Foghorn and Prometheus’ Garden are all for sale online at www.brettingram.org.
