The Rock Rest Amphitheater in Northern Chatham County will hold a benefit on Saturday, September 13th at 4 p.m. Money raised will be used for stage repairs and operations. The amphitheater, 15 minutes south of Carrboro, was founded in 1981 by James Carnahan and the Rock Rest community.
The event will feature musicians from area bands: Polecat Creek’s Laurelyn Dossett, Great Big Gone and Lynn Blakey of Tres Chicas. Dossett will perform with friends Molly McGinn and Scott Manring while Blakey will be joined by her husband, fiddle player Ecki Heins. Great Big Gone will be playing songs from their recent CD release, Threadbare Heart.
