News brief: Low-cost rabies clinics

Posted on October 16, 2008 by Staff

The Orange County Animal Services Department will offer two low-cost rabies vaccination clinics in October. These will be the last two clinics offered this year.

Upcoming clinics are Oct. 22, noon to 5 p.m., at the Orange County Animal Shelter on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Chapel Hill, and Oct. 29, 8:30 to 10 a.m., at Orange County Animal Control on Revere Road in Hillsborough.

The vaccination fee is $5, which must be paid in cash. Only one-year vaccinations will be offered at both clinics. Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers. Animals that may be nervous or unsettled should be kept in a vehicle for their vaccination. For more information, call 245-2075.
