Transfer station meeting

Posted on November 13, 2008 by Staff

The Orange County Board of Commissioners will hold a public comment meeting on siting a solid-waste transfer station on Monday at 7 p.m. at the McDougle Middle School cafetorium.

The board hopes to familiarize citizens with the three candidate sites under consideration for the transfer station, accept public comment on these sites and address other concerns. The board is developing a solid-waste transfer station because the county landfill is projected to reach capacity in mid-2011.

The three candidate sites designated by the board for public comment are located north of Hwy. 54 at Morrow Mill Road, west of Orange Grove Road and east of Stanford Road. For more information regarding these sites and the site-selection process, visit www.olver.com/orangecounty
McDougle is located a 900 Old Fayetteville Road.
