Posted on December 17, 2008 by Staff

UNC Crime Stoppers is seeking information relating to the identity of persons involved in a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident that occurred on Old Greensboro Highway near Neville Road in Orange County during the early hours of Nov. 16, resulting in the death of 17-year-old Chapel Hill High School student and football player Rodney Torain.

According to law-enforcement officials, the suspects’ vehicle was described as a small gold or silver four-door vehicle, possibly occupied by several Hispanic individuals. The vehicle is believed to have followed the car in which Torain was a passenger for several miles before making contact with it, and should have damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.

A minimum reward of $300 is being offered for information leading to arrest in this case. Anonymous calls can be made to Crime Stoppers at 942-7515. Information can also be submitted online at www.crimestoppers-chcunc.org
