Community brief: Galloway Ridge awards grants

Posted on December 23, 2008December 23, 2008 by Staff

The Galloway Ridge Charitable Fund has announced this year’s grant recipients. The fund awarded grants to:

Chatham County Together! — an organization providing mentorship to children with a parent in jail;

The Chatham County Literacy Council, which trains volunteers to coach children and improve their reading skills;

The CORA Food Pantry, because industrial closings mean the pantry will likely be busier than ever; and

The Chatham Education Foundation, which funds continuing education for teachers.

In addition, some of the fund was set aside for scholarships for employees of Galloway Ridge.
Galloway Ridge is a retirement community in Chatham County, and its charitable contributions were made possible by its residents, friends and business partners.
