News brief: Robbery suspects charged

Chapel Hill Police have charged three suspects in connection with an armed robbery in the 300 block of West Rosemary Street on Dec. 18.

Marcus Nathanial Allen, 24, of 3835 Pin Oak Road in Raleigh, Roneesha Pleshette Jones, 25, of 107 Stowe Place in Garner and Tishia Lee Ann Johnson, 22, of 215 Lawrence St. in Fuquay Varina have each been charged with multiple counts in connection with the incident.

According to Chapel Hill Police, a male and female victim reported that a white Chevrolet Lumina pulled up beside them on Rosemary Street around midnight. The male suspect then got out of the car, approached them with a handgun and demanded money. The suspects then fled the scene, but were intercepted shortly thereafter by police in the area of Fordham Boulevard and Europa Drive.

Allen was charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of assault of a female, one count of possession of stolen goods, one count of possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a weapon by a felon. Jones and Johnson, passengers in the vehicle, have each been charged with several counts, including robbery with a dangerous weapon.

According to police, they later discovered that the vehicle used in the robbery had been reported stolen in Raleigh.
