About 900 Orange County residents attended a meeting of the Orange County Tax Revolt on March 23 at Orange High School, waving banners and chanting in hopes of convincing county commissioners to repeal the 2009 property tax revaluation. This was the group’s third meeting.
Representatives of the local real estate community, including Thomas Whisnant of Carrboro’s Community Realty, spoke in support of the revolt. Residents also told of their own experiences with the revaluations and attempts to appeal.
