Call before you dig

Posted on April 23, 2009 by Staff

North Carolina One reminds residents to call the North Carolina One Call Center in advance of any digging on their property.

North Carolina law requires residents to notify their area utilities at least 48 hours in advance of an excavation project. However, residents can dial 811 to talk toll-free to the North Carolina One Call Center, who will notify all their local utilities, including PSNC Energy. PSNC Energy will then locate and mark its company-owned underground natural gas facilities in the area so residents or contractors can be sure to avoid them when installing a new swimming pool, sprinkler system or trees and shrubs.
