Schools in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools district have selected their 2009-10 Teachers of the Year.
Elementary school Teachers of the Year are: Myriam Casimir, Carrboro Elementary; Gretchen Capps, Ephesus Elementary; Gina Pace, Estes Hills Elementary; Leigh Ann Cardman, Frank Porter Graham Elementary; LaWanda Rainey-Hall, Glenwood Elementary; Janet Davis-Castra, McDougle Elementary; Karen Reid, Morris Grove Elementary; Michelle Wood, Rashkis Elementary; Tricia Billy, Scroggs Elementary; and Kathy MacKinnon, Seawell Elementary.
Middle school Teachers of the Year are: Robert Bales, Culbreth Middle; Redmond Grigg, McDougle Middle; Jonathan Beyle, Phillips Middle; and Jonté Hill, Smith Middle.
High school Teachers of the Year are: Kathryn Eriksen, Carrboro High; Albert Wartski, Chapel Hill High; and Kimberly Manning, East Chapel Hill High.
The selected teachers will be honored at the district’s annual recognition reception on May 29, when the district Teacher of the Year will be announced.
