Park dedication and trail work

Posted on May 21, 2009 by Staff

The dedication day for Southern Community Park is June 6 from 10 a.m. to noon and will feature music, food and a tour.

The Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation department is asking for volunteers to sign up to help build a hiking trail that day from Dogwood Acres Drive to the greenway near Scroggs School. Trail builders are asked to bring a stiff rake, loppers and work gloves and to wear appropriate clothes and footwear.

Work will start about 1 p.m. and volunteers are to meet at the Dogwood Acres Drive parking lot.
