Clyde Camp Jr., 76 years old, passed away after a difficult battle. Clyde was hospitalized at UNC Hospitals for three months and then sent to rehabilitation at Kindred Hospital, where he passed after being there a month. He fought a hard battle with great dignity and constant concern for all his loved ones.
Clyde graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1953, where he was a cheerleader as well as being involved in numerous other activities. He was employed with Northen Blue Law Offices since April of 2003 and gained much joy from his friends and cohorts at the firm and in the courts systems. He served on the State Employees’ Credit Union Board in Carrboro, through which he created many special relationships, not only through the board but within the banks themselves.
Clyde was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marilyn Greene Camp, and his beloved daughter, Paula Camp Freeman. He is survived by his daughter, Allyson Camp, and his grandchildren, Brittany Cooke, Holly Cooke, R. Dylan Hill, Caroline Freeman and Wyatt Freeman. He also is survived by his dearest friend, Anna Colson.
The memorial was held July 12 at 2 p.m. at Farrington Baptist Church in Chapel Hill. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made in his honor to Farrington Baptist Church.
