On Tuesday Aug. 4th, neighborhoods throughout Chapel Hill are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 26th Annual National Night Out (NNO) crime and drug prevention event. NNO will involve over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world.
From 7 to 10 p.m., those participating are asked to turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police.
Many neighborhoods will be hosting such events as parades, flashlight walks, youth activities and anti-crime rallies. For more info, contact Officer Robin Clark at 969-2068.
