Progress solar plant

Progress Energy and MP2 Capital, an energy financing company, announced a deal to build a 2.3-megawatt solar-energy facility in Laurinburg.

The plant would be the largest solar project in North Carolina, which has mandated that the state’s electric utilities must provide at least 3 percent of their power from renewable sources.
