Four schools in the district have been designated Positive Behavior Support (PBS) Banner Schools.
Estes Hills Elementary, McDougle Middle School and Carrboro Elementary were among 65 PBS Model Banner Schools named in the state.
The Positive Behavior Support is a program seeks to impact the learning environment in the schools to foster high student performance and to reduce behavioral problems.
Smith Middle School was named an Exemplar Banner School and is among 38 schools in North Carolina to earn this designation.
It is the second time Carrboro Elementary and Smith Middle have been honored in this program.
The banners will be awarded to the schools Nov. 2 at the Conference on Exceptional Children in Greensboro.
