Fix-A-Home helps Culbreth library assistant

Posted on October 22, 2009October 22, 2009 by Staff

The Greater Chapel Hill Association of Realtors is in the third year of its Fix-A-Home program, and this year the association partnered with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation to identify a deserving staff member for the home-improvement project valued at $25,000.

This year, Culbreth library assistant Kaye Martinez was the recipient of the home-improvement project with both interior and exterior improvements added last week over the two-day project.

“We wanted to find someone in the community that was deserving,” said Pat Neagle, chair of the community service for the association. “We figured teachers help us, why don’t we help them.”

Martinez has lived in her South Greensboro Street home since she was born, and now lives there with her husband and son. She has worked in the city school system for 23 years.
