From Point to Point: Art Inspired by the Arctic and Antarctic will open this Sunday as the fourth show in a series called Global Perspectives. The show will be held at the Carrboro Branch Library and will feature sculptures, paintings, posters and photographs created by McDougle Middle School students, painter Nerys Levy and photographer Brooks de Wetter-Smith.
The Public School Foundation supported the project with a grant. Nerys worked with art teacher Kate Parrent and her students last spring and will collaborate with science teachers this fall. The goal of the project is to make students partners in the promotion of Antarctic and Arctic preservation. The exhibit will run through Jan. 19.
