Culbreth specialist named social worker of the year

Posted on November 5, 2009 by Staff

Stephanie Minter, family specialist at Culbreth Middle School, has been named North Carolina’s School Social Worker of the Year for 2009-2010 by the state’s school social worker association.

Minter was nominated for the award by Culbreth Principal Susan Wells and Assistant Principal Lynne Goodhand. In their application, Wells and Goodhand noted the numerous roles that Minter plays in connecting the school to the larger community and her positive attitude.

This is the second consecutive year that a CHCCS family specialist has won the honor. Last year, Carrboro Elementary’s Kerry Sherrill received the award.
