This Friday, Rev. Robert Campbell will travel to the White House to tell the story of his Rogers-Eubanks roads community to Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson and Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
The Rogers-Eubanks neighborhood has been home to the Orange County Landfill for 37 years and is now fighting to keep a waste transfer station from being sited less than a mile away.
The neighborhood filed an environmental justice complaint with the EPA more than a year ago.
David Caldwell, project manager for the Rogers-Eubanks Neighborhood Association, said the EPA showed interest in the issue after it was discussed at the recent N.C. Environmental Justice summit in October.
Congrats. Very proud of you! Your sis, Arlene
