Dr. Jeffrey Carpenter is one of 40 teachers from around the U.S. who has been selected by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and International Research and Exchanges Board to participate in a two-way exchange program that provides professional-development opportunities to secondary school teachers from around the world.
Carpenter teaches English at Carrboro High School and will be traveling to Kyrgyzstan for two weeks in April 2010.
During his trip, Carpenter will discuss best teaching practices and related issues with the host school teachers and a wider community of educators.
