Madison Marquette announced a number of changes in store for University Mall, including the addition of eight new businesses, totaling 25,000 square feet, in time for the holiday season, and the unanimous approval of numerous exterior renovations by Chapel Hill officials.
The new retailers are:
• Night Gallery – vintage furnishings and garden antiques and an exclusive line of women’s apparel;
• The Virginia Gail Collection – a Rachel Ashwell-inspired retail store and design studio with an emphasis on luxury bed linens;
• The North Carolina Hammock Company;
• Izabelle’s Closet – a women’s casual and resort wear concept;
• Southern Charm – an arts-and-crafts concept organized as a co-op by more than 30 local artisans;
• The Manana – a kiosk featuring the work of creative artisans and craftspeople;
• Day-by-Day Calendar – a kiosk that offers calendars for 2010; and
• Soft & Sleepy Sheets – a kiosk that offers high-quality bed linens.
The Virginia Gail Collection is a new home furnishings showroom at University Mall in Chapel Hill, but it is not inspired by Rachel Ashwell or her well-known Shabby Chic aesthetic. The Virginia Gail Collection – home furnishings for the new south – is a new collection of home furnishings developed by interior designer Casey Blalock to create homes with a comfortable look and casual luxury. North Carolina and regional Southeast home furnishings manufacturers, original work by local artists, and gift lines created by small entrepreneurial companies are showcased in an inviting locally owned and operated retail showroom. Contemporary, transitional and traditional designs are blended into and eclectic mix to provide choices and inspiration for our local and regional communities.
