Town closings for Thanksgiving holidays

Carrboro

The town will be closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. There will be no garbage collection on these days. Thursday’s garbage will be collected one day early; Friday’s garbage will be collected two days early.

Chapel Hill

Most municipal offices will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving. There will be no residential collection on Thursday or Friday and no curbside recyling collection on Thursday. Thursday routes will be collected on Saturday. There will be no change in recycling schedule on Friday.

The parking office will be closed Thursday and Friday. Onstreet parking and town-owned lots and the Wallace Deck will be free on Thursday. The Wallace deck and Lot 2 will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 a.m. Friday and Saturday and regular enforcement of all parking will resume on Saturday.

Orange County

Orange regional landfill and the Orange County solid waste convenience centers will be closed Thursday and will re-open at 7 a.m. Friday.

Chapel Hill Transit will not operate on Thursday. A reduced Saturday service schedule will be in effect on Friday and Saturday, U and NU routes will not operate and E-Z Rider service will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. On Sunday, a reduced Sunday service schedule will be in effect: U and NU routes will begin operating at 2 p.m. and a reducedservice shared ride will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Public libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday.
