Posted on November 25, 2009November 25, 2009 by Staff

Franklin Street’s Varsity Theatre, located at 123 E. Franklin St., will reopen on Friday, Nov. 27. New owners Paul and Susan Shareshian selected The Wizard of Oz for the opening weekend.

The Varsity will have showings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 1, 3:10, 5:20 and 7:30 p.m. Opening week, the Varsity also will have matinee and evening showings of The Invention of Lying and The Informant.

Alcohol has been added to the concession stand at the refurbished Varsity and will be available for certain shows. The Shareshians have applied for a liquor license, but for now it’s beer and wine on the menu.

More information is available on the theater’s website at varsityonfranklin.com
