A presentation called “Navigating the Challenging Issues of Parenting†will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Chapel Hill High School Auditorium. It will include identification of age-appropriate expectations of children; guidelines for understanding developmental shifts in kids’ attitudes, interests and behaviors; and an overview of what constitutes healthy boundaries in parent-child relationships around common areas of concern and how parents can best communicate these boundaries to their children.
Presenters will be Dr. Mary Baker-Sinclair, a partner at Chapel Hill Pediatric Psychology with a specialty in assessing and treating childhood issues, and Dr. Bradley Hack of Smooth Psychological Associates.
Moderator is Dr. Theresa Raphael-Grimm, a professor in the UNC schools of nursing and medicine who also maintains a clinical practice in psychotherapy through the UNC department of psychiatry.
