Hillsborough walking tour

Posted on January 21, 2010 by Staff

On Sunday, Jan. 31 at 3 p.m., four long-time Hillsborough residents who were active in the Old Hillsborough business district between 1940 and 1975 will lead a tour down the Corbin, King and Churton streets business district.

Wesley Woods, Gee Coleman, Sherry Freeland and Remus Smith will tell stories designed to help the audience imagine the appearance of the town in days gone by. Citizens are invited to bring photographs or other memorabilia from this period of Hillsborough’s history and others who have memories of this time will be encouraged to share stories.

The event is co-sponsored by the Senior Center and by the Historical Foundation of Hillsborough and Orange County. Questions can be directed to Kaye Crawford 732-2336 or kayecrawford@embarqmail.com and Rev. Brooks Graebner 732-9308 or stmattclergy@embarqmail.com
