Learn about affordable housing

Posted on January 21, 2010 by Staff

The Town of Chapel Hill is continuing a public review process for a draft Inclusionary Zoning Ordinance to help address the need for more affordable housing in Chapel Hill. A public-information open house is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Chapel Hill Town Hall, 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Repeating presentations will take place at 5:15 p.m. and 6:15 pm.

A task force appointed by the town council developed ideas and worked with consultants to prepare a draft ordinance, which is posted online at townhall.townofchapelhill.org/agendas/2009/09/28/7b/ with related information. Information is also available by calling 919-2728.

The Feb. 2 meeting is one of multiple opportunities for public review and comment, leading up to a public hearing tentatively scheduled for March 15.
