Chapel Hill High student Aaron Small was released on bail from Orange County Jail on Saturday after allegedly firing a gun on a school bus last Thursday morning.
According to police, Small, 18, was taken into custody on Thursday after allegedly firing a .22 caliber revolver in his pocket. No one was injured during the incident, which resulted in a lockdown at the high school and nearby Smith Middle and Seawell Elementary schools.
Small was released on $15,000 bond later that day and taken back into custody on Friday after his bail was raised to $30,000. He was released again on Saturday after posting the remaining $15,000. He has been charged with possession of a weapon on school property and discharging a weapon on school property.
The bail was raised after officials realized Small had failed to appear on hit-and-run charges in Wake County in January. A judge ordered Small to stay away from Chapel Hill High and three students who attend the school.
