Joal Hall Broun, candidate for Orange County commissioner at large, starts her statement to the public, “When I make promises I keep them. I am a public servant, not a politician.â€
For 11 years as a Carrboro alderman, she has served the community well. Upon graduating from law school, she chose to use her degree to help people. She has worked as a public defender and for the Self Help Credit Union, and currently works for the secretary of state as her lobbying compliance director.
Joal Hall Broun supports the arts and is a patron of the Carrboro Branch Library. The people of southwest Orange County have been told that they are next for a fully functioning branch library. They have been next for years – they are always next.
