Dual-language students win Chinese writing contest

Students in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro dual-language program swept the Under 13 native speakers category of N.C. State’s Confucius Institute 2010 N.C. Chinese Writing Contest. Claire Yin of Glenwood Elementary won first prize. Wendi Su of McDougle Middle and Alyssa Wang of Glenwood Elementary won second prize. Third prize went to Jennifer Qian of Glenwood and Dalton Xue of McDougle Middle.

In the non-heritage category, Morgan Alderman of McDougle Middle received first prize. Second prize went to Haiyen Nguyen of Glenwood and third prize went to Conrad Weiden of Glenwood.

Glenwood Elementary will receive 100 books as the prize for winning the Organization Award.
