Orange County will receive $225,675 in energy-efficiency grants recently named by the state as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The county plans to use the stimulus funds to install a ground-source heat pump, solar hot-water system and high-efficiency hand dryer at its Emergency Services facility; improve lighting, install a solar water heater and make other improvements at the Triangle Sportsplex; and improve lighting, upgrade heating and air conditioning, install a solar hot-water heater and other energy-saving improvements at the Piedmont Food & Agriculture Center.
The total cost of the projects is estimated at $451,350.
