Lending Legs for Learning will hold its first annual 5K fun run and walk-a-thon at the Bolin Creek Greenway on June 5.

Lending Legs for Learning was formed to raise money to purchase books for the Lending Library at UNC Children’s Hospital. The books collected will benefit the parents, clinical teams and more than 70,000 children served by UNC Children’s Hospital every year.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. on the day of the event at the Bolin Creek trailhead at the Chapel Hill Community Center off Estes Drive. The event will begin at 10 a.m. Registration is $25 with a t-shirt or $15 for adults and $10 for children without a t-shirt. Donations of new or lightly used children’s books (for children up to 18 years) will be accepted. Parking will be available at 104 S. Estes Drive or in the Wachovia parking spaces located in the Southwest parking lot at University Mall. Participants should not park at the Community Center.
