I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy Ken Moore’s Flora column. It’s always well presented and informative, and it’s one of the reasons I look forward to reading The Citizen each week. His recent columns on pollinators made me pay special attention to a spectacle I have always enjoyed, that of watching busy pollinators.
This past Sunday as I was birding along a nature trail, I approached a blooming Virginia creeper vine. I could hear buzzing and the plant looked fuzzy and shimmered with the movement of dozens of pollinators, from bumble bees to tiny flies. It was a mesmerizing sight and a delight to watch.
Thanks to Ken for his interesting columns, and I happily anticipate many more to come.
