Hillsborough meeting on rail station

Posted on July 21, 2010 by Staff

The Hillsborough Board of Commissioners will hold a public meeting on Monday to discuss plans to build a rail station on a 20-acre site off of Orange Grove Street, which could also serve as a police station and municipal meeting place. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Town Barn.

Construction on the site would displace the Hillsborough Youth Athletic Association, which uses the fields near the lot. Funding for the development has not yet been secured, although Hillsborough’s Rail Station Task Force has posted conceptual drafts of the project on the town’s website, ci.hillsborough.nc.us
