Three Chapel Hill technology companies made news this month. Cardioxyl Pharmaceuticals Inc., a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company, “achieved positive safety and tolerability results” in the initial clinical trial of its heart-failure therapy, CXL-1020. The compound is for the treatment of patients with acute decompensated heart failure, which results in more than one million hospitalizations in the U.S. annually. (cardioxyl.com)

Wastewater treatment solutions provider Entex Technologies Inc. was named one of 25 North Carolina Companies to Watch by the Council for Entrepreneurial Development in RTP. This is the first “class” in the recognition program, which honors growth-stage entrepreneurial companies based on market performance, innovative products and other qualities. (entexinc.com)

Intrepid Company signed a consulting engagement with StatSheet, an online sports data visualization and analysis firm. Intrepid will assist in the development of team-focused sites. Building the system and the site network requires a unique mix of technology and creative, as well as an in-depth knowledge of the mechanics of writing, social media and the sports themselves.
