Aydan Court returns for review

Posted on August 25, 2010 by Staff

Almost a year and a half after a heated exchange between developer Carol Ann Zinn and then-Mayor Kevin Foy and the subsequent rejection by the Chapel Hill Town Council of the proposed Aydan Court housing project, a redrawn proposal is working its way through the town’s review process.

An information session was held Monday night at Town Hall to review proposed changes to the development, which would be located on 5.8 acres near Barbee Chapel Road and the U.S. Army Corps Upper Little Creek Waterfowl Impoundment Area.

Zinn has moved the project’s three three-story buildings farther away from the impoundment. The projected 118,900-square-foot project would include 90 residential units, including six affordable units.

I thought affordables had to be 15% of the total. That’s the rule in Carrboro. What makes Miss Thang think she can do less?
