UNC student artist Gabby Seider was recognized last week for her volunteer work at the UNC Family Medicine Center. Seider, a studio art and chemistry double major, spent her summer painting a two-wall mural in one of the clinic’s waiting areas. The artwork, the result of a request by the medical center to the UNC art department for student ideas for a “kid-friendly†mural, depicts a vivid underwater scene complete with schools of fish, dolphins, whales and other sea life.
Susan Baize, UNC Family Medicine Center clinic manager, praised Seider for her dedication and enthusiasm: “I have nothing but wonderful things to say about her.â€
