The University of North Carolina Board of Governors is holding a meeting this morning (Thursday) at 11 a.m. at which it is expected to vote on its pick for the successor to UNC system President Erskine Bowles.
Multiple news reports say the board will name Davidson College President Thomas Ross to head up the system. Ross has been president at Davidson since 2007. A Greensboro native, he served as a Superior Court judge for 17 years. He received his undergraduate degree from Davidson in 1972 and went to law school at UNC, where he later taught in the School of Government.
