Cardinal Gibbons 40 – East Chapel Hill 28

Posted on September 2, 2010September 2, 2010 by Staff

East Chapel Hill’s Wildcats (1-1) seemed to fall back into their old habits for most of Friday’s game. The score read 40-7 with five minutes left in the third quarter, before an impressive Wildcat offensive spurt leveled things somewhat. Drew Davis found receivers Merritt Smith, Quadry Ridley and Ellis Jeffay for TD passes in the final 15 minutes of play. Still, the Crusaders of Cardinal Gibbons (1-1) dominated the contest with an effective running game, led by juggernaut running back Tim Buckley, who rushed for 184 yards and four touchdowns.

East Chapel Hill will host Cedar Ridge this Friday.
