Culbreth Middle School has been named an Honor School of Excellence in North Carolina’s ABCs of Public Instruction.
More than 90 percent of Culbreth students attained proficiency on the End-of-Grade Tests and made Adequate Yearly Progress under No Child Left Behind.
The state board of education recently amended the school’s status. Culbreth was originally designated as a School of Distinction, but an error was found in the school’s testing report and the district filed an appeal in July.
