Holmes named principal of Smith

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education recently named Ephesus Elementary School Principal Phil Holmes as the new principal of Smith Middle School.

Holmes has served as principal of Ephesus since 2007. He previously served as principal of Burton IB Magnet Elementary School in Durham County and assistant principal of Ephesus. He holds a master’s degree in school administration from UNC and a bachelor’s degree in history from Hobart College.

Ephesus Assistant Principal Tori Creamer will serve as interim principal for the remainder of the school year.
Holmes will begin work at Smith on Monday.
