Students selected to honors choirs

Posted on November 18, 2010November 18, 2010 by Staff

Two Chapel Hill-Carrboro middle school students were selected for 2011 American Choral Directors Association Honors Choirs.

Smith Middle School eighth-grader Claire Hoke was selected for the Junior High-Middle School Honors Choir, and McDougle Middle School seventh-grader Abby Kameny was selected for the Treble Honors Choir. They will attend four days of rehearsals in Chicago in March and will perform in concerts for the ACDA 2011 National Convention at Roosevelt University.

The ACDA sponsors national honors choirs every two years. More than 4,000 recorded auditions were submitted for this year’s four honors choirs.
