Representatives of the proposed redevelopment of downtown land recently optioned or purchased by CVS Caremark will meet with neighbors of the project Wednesday at Town Hall from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Engineers will present a plan for a mix of uses for a 23,000-square-foot building on 1.35 acres at the corner of Greensboro and Weaver streets and hold an open discussion on the development and its impact. A preliminary site plan and building layout will also be made available at the meeting.
I suggest that the town require
— that the building be no more than one story high,
— that no more than 25 parking spaces are provided on the property,
— that the company cannot lease or sell the parking spaces,
— that cars in the parking area lot are not visible from either street ,
— that the building be designed and built in the exact same style as the Carr Mill Mall, including all building materials,
— that all exterior lighting be minimal, projected downward, and not more than 8 feet high,
— that all exterior signs are at a minimal size, placed no more than six feet high and limited to no more than two store-name signs,
— that a plethora of trees and shrubs be planted immediately and the trees and shrubs are of a significant size and native to this area.
Thank you.
