The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education will host its annual Legislative Breakfast on Friday from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Lincoln Center boardroom.
Invited guests for the event include Rep. David Price; Howard Lee, executive director of the N.C. Education Cabinet; Sen. Ellie Kinnaird; Rep. Joe Hackney; Rep. Verla Inkso; and Bernadette Pelissier, chair of the Orange County Board of Commissioners.
Board members and district administrators will discuss key legislative issues affecting schools as the General Assembly prepares to convene on Jan. 26. The state’s budget situation and its impact on the local school district will likely dominate the conversation.
